HEY THERE!
This month has been crazy busy! Now that I’m back with photography and sewing up a storm for my little side business, my days have just been flying by. Hence why this update is a whopping two weeks late. Oops. But hey! Better late than never, right? I’ve decided that’s my new motto as a mom of two.
Junie girl’s second month with us was full of adventures, learning new skills and playing with friends. Her personality is starting to shine and I LOVE hearing her coo and talk to us throughout the day. My favorite part, though, was seeing how much she and James love each other. He smothers her in hugs and kisses, “helps” when she’s crying and is just all around the sweetest big brother ever. I’ve never been more proud of him than when I see him interact with his sister.
I feel like we’ve really hit a routine here at home. The kiddos sleep in, I either wake up to read my Bible or sleep in too, breakfast, play, lunch, nap, dada gets home, mama works, dinner, bed, then start the whole process over the next day. It’s not glamorous, and I end each day wishing there were more hours to get things done, but I still love it. Having two kids is hard, but also so much fun.
This month I started a Bible study with some ladies from church, and I’ve really looked forward to our Wednesday mornings spent together. June usually naps while James plays his little heart out. Thank the Lord for playdates because they really wear him out which means a nice nap when we get home.
June has been getting stronger and stronger every day. She loves holding her head up and sitting in her “sit me up” a little bit each day. Her favorite place to chill is in the bouncer where she will kick her legs to bounce up and down for a solid 30 minutes. I call it her workout for the day.
She has also started cooing and smiling when we talk to her. I LOVE hearing her little voice and seeing a big grin on her face when I start talking to her. She is so sweet and smily.
A not so fun development is June’s protest to go to sleep at night. Every couple of nights she just doesn’t want to sleep, and it’s been hard on both me and Isaac. But I just remind myself that it (hopefully) won’t last forever and someday she’ll be a really good sleeper. So for now we let her bounce away in her bouncer when we give up on putting her down, and soak in her little grin knowing full and well she just won and got her way.
We’ve all been enjoying this cooler weather, and homegirl LOVES being outside. While I haven’t started walking again, we have had lots of fun at the park and in the backyard while big brother plays.
This month also brought a sad goodbye when we ended care with my sweet midwife, Danielle. I miss our appointments so much, and can’t wait to see her again with the next baby. ;)
June also went on her first road trip over Labor Day weekend to Corpus. We had so much fun with our besties, and surprisingly all the kids did so well. The ride home was not the best, but we survived. Our trip together made me SO excited to see our kids grow up together.
While in Corpus, June got to meet Uncle Jarrett and Aunt Sass! And we all said our “hello”s to Baby Wyatt. He’s going to be June and James’s first cousin, and we can’t WAIT to meet him in December.
This month June also went to church for the first time (out of the womb). It was so great seeing out church family again. I didn’t realize how much I missed them until we were back.
Here’s to another fun, busy and adventure-full month!
