HEY THERE!
Holy moly roly poly. How in the world is my little James Richard six years old?! It feels like just yesterday that he was born, but here he is all big and grown up now.
James has always had the kindest heart, and I love seeing him care for all the people around him. He is so thoughtful and is always looking for ways to make people feel special. Especially when it comes to birthdays, he is simply the sweetest! He walked into my room singing happy birthday to me, made June and Ellie multiple cards for theirs (and insisted on singing to them throughout the day), wrote Isaac notes to read in the days leading up to his, and truly found joy in everyone else’s joy.
He is currently into building things, and is starting to get into Legos which is really fun. James loves playing pretend, and has a blast hanging out with his sisters. Every day starts out with them happily playing together in the living room, and ends with some last minute giggles before going to sleep at night.
James loves listening to his Yoto player, and it’s been so cool to see how much his vocabulary has increased since he got it for Christmas. His favorite books are (of course) Star Wars and Avengers, as well as all of the Geronimo Stilton books. He enjoys coloring and making cards for people. And he absolutely LOVES learning. Teaching him this past year was so much fun, and I am looking forward to what the upcoming weeks and months hold with my little first grader.
He loves making people laugh, and I have had fun watching his personality grow. He currently wants to be a firefighter (hence his fire station photoshoot), and really looks up to my little brother who is one. When we’re out driving, he gets so excited when we pass an emergency vehicle, and keeps a running count of how many we pass that day. He’s a little nerdy, but I’m here for it.
Our favorite things about James:
How much he loves birthdays
How he loves planning out every day, and then recapping them at night for us
His incredible memory
The way he obsesses over things – Marvel, Captain America, Spiderman, red white and blue / flags (specifically Texas and America)
How much he loves his little sisters
The way he encourages everyone, and loves teaching June and Ellie new things
His good attitude (most of the time) when it comes to chores – watering the garden, feeding Lillie and doing the dishes
When he asks Isaac what he did that day every night at dinner
Happy happy birthday, James Richard! We love you more than words can describe.
