HEY THERE!
I’m in disbelief that my baby boy is officially FIVE. It feels like yesterday and forever ago that our lives changed forever when we welcomed our little 7lb 14oz son into our family. He’s the one who made me a mama, and continues to teach me so much about patience, unconditional love and finding joy in the littlest things.
James is the kindest, most caring and thoughtful kid I know. He loves thinking of others and finding ways to make them feel special (especially June). Just this morning we went out for a special birthday treat and he asked me if he could buy Junie something so she didn’t feel left out. He loves his sisters SO much, and it makes me tear up seeing how much he helps with Ellie Sue. They have a special connection that’s so sweet to witness!
He is excited to start school next week, and I’m looking forward to watching him learn and grow over the next years of life. We will be doing homeschool kindergarten, and it’s going to be a fun adventure! James loves learning and I know he’s going to soak in every minute.
James continues to be obsessed with all things Avengers (Iron Man, Hulk and Spider Man specifically), trains, airplanes, and funny faces. He things he’s soooo funny and cracks jokes and acts silly just to get a smile out of the people in the room. James and June love playing pretend together, and currently their favorite things are “airplane” (aka throwing all their toys, bags and clothes on June’s bed and flying somewhere), firefighters, rocket ship, “mommy and daddy” and kitchen. It’s fun watching their imagination soar!
Some of his most used phrases:
“Tomorning” (as in tomorrow morning)
“hey… guess what” (his favorite phrase when telling a story)
“mama… mama… look… mama look over here… mama look”
“hosiple” (hospital)
“borilla blue” (gorilla glue)
“morning clothes” (the clothes you put on in the morning, of course)
“watch this” *kicks feet in the air* *falls on face*
James is such a sweet light in our family, and I am so thankful the Lord gave us him. I’ve loved watching him grow over the years, and can’t wait to see how much he changes.
Happiest of birthdays, little man!
