This month I’ve seriously slacked on blogging. Good grief where has time gone?! Life has been so busy and full of taking care of James that I go to bed exhausted every night. I’m tired, but SO happy. I decided to spend this month focusing on my baby (and trying to stay on top of my life), and less on keeping up with the blog. While I’ve missed sharing here, it’s also been a much needed break, and I’m ready to get back in the game. Starting with today’s 7 month update!
As James has grown, I’ve made a very conscious effort to enjoy every stage. I absolutely adored the newborn snuggles. I will never forget those first times he smiled and laughed at me. I soak in his sloppy wet kisses and raspberries. Took hundreds of pictures of him holding his feet, doing tummy time and playing on his cloud. And I’ve had to constantly backup all the pictures and videos on my phone since I keep running out of space.
I’ve never been more thankful for all those low quality pictures and videos. For all those little moments I’ve enjoyed with my baby. And for the times when I set work aside so I could be a momma. Time is a thief, and I blinked and my baby isn’t quite a baby anymore. This month was my favorite so far (which I’ll probably keep saying every month…) and I’ve adored watching James’s personality shine.
He brings so much joy to mine and Isaac’s lives, and I legitimately miss him when he goes to bed. I never thought I’d be the mom who stares at her baby while they sleep, wishing they were awake, but here I am doing just that. I think it’s a rite of motherhood! ;)
James Richard | 7 Month Update
James sat in a cart for the first time this month. While he wasn’t the biggest fan, he sure looked like a cute little old man.
#Shocker we went on lots of playdates. We LOVE our sweet playdate friends!
James is loving this whole baby led weaning thing. His favorite foods right now are sweet potato fries, green beans, and avocado.
We are looooving the pretty spring weather. This winter was hard on me, since I didn’t want to go out when it was cold with James. We have been on lots of walks, and he’s even had his first park date with Tommie Grace. Little man loved the swing!
James went on four more plan rides this month! We travelled to North Dakota to visit my brother and sister in law, and he did so good. The first travel day was rough since our morning started at 4AM, which is WAY earlier than he’s used to, but overall he was a champ!
He also saw his first buffalo and his first snow while we were in North Dakota. I don’t think he was the biggest fan of the cold, though!
We have a sitter!! James finally began sitting all by himself while we were in North Dakota, and now he’s able to do it for minutes at a time. I love it (#pictures), and so does James. He’s realized he can reach his toys faster and easier when he is sitting up – haha!
My bestie from Oregon and her baby, Tommie (who’s pretty famous here), came to visit! We’ve missed them so much!
Pretty spring weather means perfect zoo weather! James went on his very first trip to the zoo, and we had a BLAST. I know he won’t remember a bit of it, but oh well. ;)
Our friends had a crawfish boil and invited us. James “tried” his first crawfish… JK he just held it. Still, it made a good photo op.
This month was one for the books. I can’t wait to see what month 8 brings!
