I'm Becca - mom to three cute kiddos, professional photographer, chocolate addict, in love with all thing wildflowers, and (most importantly) a sinner saved by grace through faith!
HEY THERE!
I absolutely cannot believe that my squishy little baby is about to be ONE. Where in the world did the past year go? But at the same time, I can’t imagine our family without her sweet smile and scrumptiously chubby cheeks.
I think I’ve been subconsciously putting off writing this update simply because I don’t want to admit that she’s getting so big. But alas, I cannot stop time (even though my kids seem to think I can??) and here we are, with an eleven month old (plus a week).
This has been a big month for Ellie! She is finally crawling more on her hands and knees, and is starting to cruise along furniture. Ellie loves to climb up and over anything and anyone. She pulls to standing every chance she gets, and is just the happiest little baby!
Ellie also started playing peek-a-boo, clapping her hands and said “mama” when crying for food (sounds about right). She’s babbling more and more, and I can hear her talking to herself all the time – it’s so cute!
June and James are still oh so smitten by her. The three of them have a blast together which I love to watch. It makes my heart so happy!
This month has involved lots of water, which is a necessity here in Texas right now. We kicked off the fun in the sun by setting up our little kiddie pool outside, and the kids have been loving it. Ellie has her own pool to play in, and the big kids have a blast squirting water and splashing each other. We’ve also gone to the water park a couple of times… it’s absolutely exhausting, but so worth it!
We also went on our annual trip to the beach and had such a great time with our besties! The kids played together so well, Ellie did amazing, and it was such a perfect weekend soaking in the sun and fresh air. I didn’t know how much I needed the rest until we were there.
I’ve been working on a personal challenge of completing 30 miles in 30 days, which means we’ve gone on lots of walks lately! It’s been HOT but we’ve had fun walking at different parks, playing on playgrounds and making memories together.
Most of our afternoons lately have been spent playing in the water on the back deck, or set up in the front yard. I’ve been trying to be more intentional about spending time with the kids rather than working, and it’s been such a needed (and nice) change.
We learned about pollinators in the months of May and June, and ended the “unit” with a trip to Texas Discovery Gardens. They have a really cool butterfly house, and beautiful garden to walk through. It was rainy and oh so humid, but we all had a good time.
We also did a little photoshoot in the wildflowers, of course.
And speaking of photoshoots, I love how the pictures turned out for my 4th of July launch for The Threaded Bee! These kiddos just keep getting cuter and cuter.
This month we celebrated my little brother getting married! The family and I loved getting together with everyone, and it was fun watching all the cousins play together. We are so happy for Jacob and Sarah!
One of my favorite memories from this month was doing our annual family photos. This year we headed to the wildflowers and goodness… Tricia killed it! She has taken our pictures since our first year of marriage, and I just love her so much.
What a fun month of busy and not busy, sweet memories, sweaty days, laughter and getting to know our sweet Eleanor Sue. My little sunshine baby.
