- 1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled and roughly chopped
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 2 Tbsp water
- In a medium nonstick saucepan, heat the strawberries, sugar and water on medium high until it reaches a rolling boil. Stir every minute.
- Lower the heat to medium low and cook until a thick sauce has formed. Stir the mixture every few minutes to make sure it’s not sticking to the bottom and to prevent burning.
- Transfer to a bowl or glass container to cool completely. Cover and refrigerate for up to a week.
