HEY THERE!
Well I’m a few days late with this post, but my oh my things have been so busy lately I’m surprised I can find the time to write this at all, haha! The past few weeks have been a blur (hence the extreme lack of posts!), and if you’ve been keeping up with my Instagram stories, you have been able to join in a little on the craziness. Over the past two weeks Isaac and I moved from our apartment to a rental house, and it’s been so hard on me. Moving in the heat of summer in Texas is a challenge in itself (trust me… I’ve done it four times in the past three years!) but being 7 months pregnant and moving is a whole ‘nother battle. I’m tired, sore and in a constant state of sweatiness.
BUT. We’re almost done. Hallelujah!
We have to be out of our apartment by the end of the week and all that’s left to move over is a bunch of Isaac’s tools in the garage and other random items here and there. I have a couple of boxes left to unpack (mostly things we just threw into boxes as we cleaned the apartment) and a bunch of pictures to hang on the walls. But other than that, The Move -yes it gets capital letters- is over.
And y’all… I can’t WAIT to share some pictures of our new place! It’s so stinkin’ cute and I am SO excited to welcome James here in just a couple of months. We have lots of nursery projects to do before his big arrival (like a *shiplap wall* eeep!) but things are finally falling into place. I feel so much more relaxed and at peace here. We have a yard for Lillie. We strung outdoor lights around our back patio and I’m in love. I have room that has become my little office space and it’s perfect! And there are no more upstairs neighbors to deal with.
I love our cozy little home.
Oh, and best of all, I get to nest now. ; )
How far along?
32 weeks 3 days!
How big is James?
James is about 18 inches tall, the size of a pomelo, and weighs about four pounds.
Must-have items
Lots of pillows to elevate my feet, cuz this Texas heat is NOT kind to them! Also I l-o-v-e my Hydroflask. It not only keeps my water cold for hours, but helps me monitor how much I’m drinking throughout the day so I can make sure I have enough. With the summer in full swing, my midwives want me to stay hydrated, and my Hydroflask is a huge help in that!
Cravings
None! I want ice cream and milkshakes all the time, but those aren’t cravings. Just desires of the heart. ; )
Symptoms
The bump is huge. I’ve got stretch marks starting on my hips. And James is moving like craaaazy. Yesterday at church he must have been full of the spirit or something, because he seriously wiggled, rolled, kicked and hiccuped the e-n-t-i-r-e sermon and during our prayer time afterwards. It was super sweet, but also a bit distracting!
I also have been swelling a lot easier lately, but thankfully once I get my feet elevated and sip on lots of water, the swelling goes down pretty quickly. And I’m exhausted. Partly because of the move, partly because of the heat, but mostly because growing a baby is hard work! That third trimester fatigue is no joke, y’all. Also, I’ve perfected the pregnancy squat, and have to stand in all sorts of weird angles to shave my legs. #pregoprobs
Exercise
I’m still 100% in love with my Bar Method classes! My goal for this summer is to go 4-5 times a week (as long as my body allows) and so far I’ve been able to stick to that. I also love going on evening walks with Isaac, and now that our move is almost over I hope to start them back up again.
High moment of the week
There were to highs from last week. The first one was that my mom was able to come to my appointment last Wednesday and got to hear James’ little heartbeat. It was so special and I loved getting to share that with her!
The second one was the first night Isaac and I sat on the patio after stringing up the lights and just being able to enjoy the evening. It was so peaceful, and I look forward to many more nights like that in the future. : )
*And a quick shout out to Brooke for snapping some pictures of me the other day after I took Tommie’s 1 year pictures! You da best!*
