HEY THERE!
Hellooo third trimester! #whatwhat
How are we already at 28 weeks? Like for reals. Time must have sped up or SOMETHING because I blinked and now here we are approaching the last week of school, getting ready to move into a house, and closing a chapter in my life to only open an even sweeter and more exciting one. But I’ll write more on that next week. My heart can’t handle all those emotions right now!
Aaaand I’ve decided to keep it short and sweet today, so it’s officially time for the week 28 bumpdate! You’re welcome.
How far along?
28 weeks today!
How big is James?
James is about 16 inches tall, and the size of a bowling pin, and weighs about 2 1/2 pounds.
Must-have items
Keep an eye out in June for a detailed list of my pregnancy must haves, buuut for the past few weeks I haven’t been able to live without my Sseko ribbon sandals. They are AMAZING and so comfy. They have conformed to my feet, can be tied a bunch of different ways AND can be let out throughout the day if my feet start swelling. I’ve shot two weddings in them so far and they are definitely the comfiest pair of sandals I’ve ever owned.
Also, I’m loving my Gap maternity workout leggings and tank tops, as well as the cuuute summer maternity shorts at Old Navy. I’ve finally embraced that I need to wear actual “maternity” clothes and my oh my are they comfortable! ; )
Cravings
Nothing really! I’ve been eating lots of salads, but really don’t have any cravings.
Symptoms
Whoooweeee where to begin? I feel James kicking all. the. time. He’s learned how to very precisely put pressure right on my bladder at the most inopportune times (like in the middle of barre class…) and loves to squirm at 2AM after my middle of the night bathroom break. I feel him moving around more and more, and can’t wait to see those cute little hands and feet in person. My feet have started minor swelling at the end of the day, but daily walks with Isaac have helped a lot with that. I can only sleep when straddling my pregnancy pillow and am rocking the bend at the knee, not at the waist move nowadays cuz baby’s all up in my business now. Oh and indigestion. Lots of it.
But as exhausting, frustrating and uncomfortable these symptoms are, I love every single one. Because I know that every day and every symptom brings us closer to holding our sweet James in our arms!
Exercise
I’m sticking to barre at the Bar Method Southlake and have upped to 4 times a week, which is tiring but I love it! I’m hoping that once school’s out and I have more free time I can do 5 days a week. My midwife actually commented on how great my abs were at my appointment yesterday and you betcha it’s because of barre! #ripped ; )
Isaac and I are also going on evening walks together after dinner, which usually end up being about a mile long. I love being able to spend some one on one time with him, and yes… Walking up a hill is DEFINITELY cardio in my book lately!
High moment of the week
I’m headed to the beach tonight! YAY!! Isaac and I are going on a short Memorial Day trip with some of our best friends down to Corpus and I am so excited. It will be nice to just get away, listen to the waves, and soak in some “vitamin sea” (HA! I told that to Isaac the other day and he didn’t find it very funny…). Keep up with our trip on Instagram!
Now it’s your turn to talk! Answer one of these questions in the comments below:
