HEY THERE!
What a weird past four weeks it’s been. I know everyone else agrees, and I’m curious to see how the next few months will unfold. Thankfully the past week I’ve felt more at peace and okay with our circumstances, but it’s still hard sometimes. Especially when my calendar empties up as events, photoshoots and so on keep getting cancelled or postponed.
My goal the past four weeks has been to stay content and find rest in the Lord. Slowing down, spending more time with my little family, trying new recipes, connecting with loved ones online, and going on daily walks has been SO good for us. It’s not what I envisioned Spring 2020 to look like, but I know someday I’ll look back and think “man… I wish life could slow down again”. So I’m doing my best to enjoy this stage in life, soaking in the last few months as a family of three, and praying for all those families who are being even more directly impacted by COVID-19.
This past month has also brought a lot of changes to me! I feel like I look more and more pregnant every day, and am already feeling short of breath, kicks on my bladder, and go on trips to the bathroom at least once a night. Since I have a posterior placenta I feel baby June kicking around SO MUCH. Holy moly! With James I had an anterior placenta and I didn’t realize how much I was missing out on until now haha. It’s such a special and fun feeling, even when it wakes me up in the middle of the night. It’s also exciting to see those little kicks when she really gets moving. It’s still SO surreal knowing a tiny little person is growing inside me.
Also I can’t believe how quickly the spring seems to be flying by. Even though some days feel like they’re dragging, overall l feel like the second half of the pregnancy is flying by and I’m not complaining. ;) This month my goal is to finish getting the nursery set up, and I can’t wait to share the final product with y’all.
How far along?
24 weeks and 3 days
How big is June?
June is the size of a GI Joe and about 12 inches long
Must-have items
Nothing super new this month… just the same ole maternity leggings and tanks, and my beloved pregnancy pillow! I’ve also been trying to do better about my water intake (the random Braxton-Hicks contractions have already started when I’m dehydrated), so I don’t go anywhere without my 32 oz Hydro Flask!
Cravings
Y’all… During this whole stay at home mess, I’ve discovered how delicious and easy it is to make homemade bread. Soooo I guess carbs lol
Symptoms
Nothing new really… mostly just the kicks, rolls, and so on that have increased over the past month. June seems to really like cold water, sugar and dinnertime haha! I have noticed more round ligament pain when I go on walks, so I try to slow down a little till the pain passes.
Exercise
With my bar studio closing, my workouts look a lot different now! Thankfully Nicole, one of my amazing studio owners (and friends), is doing live workouts 6 days a week on Zoom so I still get to “workout” with all my lovely Bar Method ladies. My goal is still 4 days a week and I’ve pretty much stuck to that. Also with the nicer weather we’ve been having, James and I have gone on pretty much daily walks, which we’ve both really enjoyed. Getting out of the house and soaking in the sunshine and fresh air has been SO good for us!
High moment of the month
This isn’t pregnancy related, but James finally started walking this week and YAY! We are so excited and thankful. I’m especially happy because this means I won’t have to carry around two kids once June is born haha!
