HEY THERE!
It’s weird to think that this is my last 2nd trimester bumpdate! There’s just something about hitting that third trimester that makes things feel so much more real. I’ve been having some craaaazy baby fever lately (which has happened with all three pregnancies now!), and I take that as a good sign that my body, mind and emotions are ramping up for this sweet little baby. Oh and hormones. Can’t forget about the hormones!
This past weekend we moved June into James’s room and now the nursery is the “Baby’s Room” according to James. It looks so empty with all of June’s things out of it, but I am so excited to begin filling it with new memories, decorations and love once Baby H is here. I went into full nesting mode this weekend and organized my closet, went through tubs of clothes, donated a bunch of unused things, and cleaned out the kids’ room from all the unneeded clutter. Hopefully I find another nesting urge soon to begin tackling other parts of the house haha!
The past few weeks have been so great! I’m finally feeling more like myself (and just the normal pregnancy tired rather than life draining fatigue), so I’ve been enjoying this newfound “energy” if we can call it that. I’m back to photography again with the weather warming up and spring around the corner, and have been super busy with sewing. The kids and I have had a lot of fun together, and I’m trying my best to soak in the time I have with the two of them before this little one joins the mix.
All in all it’s been a good month, and I’m hoping the next few ones follow suit! :)
How far along?
24 weeks and 1 day
How big is the baby?
The Baby is the size of an ear of corn and about 12 inches long
Must-have items
Nothing super new this month… just the same ole maternity leggings and tanks, and my beloved pregnancy pillow! I’ve also been trying to do better about my water intake (the random Braxton-Hicks contractions have already started when I’m dehydrated), so I don’t go anywhere without my 32 oz Hydro Flask!
Cravings
I mostly just have random urges for certain foods (like *cold* fruit specifically), but nothing I’d warrant the title of “craving”. I’ve been trying to eat better, and am happy that my body wants veggies again!
Symptoms
Overall I feel great! I get sore and tired a little easier, but I can’t complain. I have some round ligament pain, have started having more and more Braxton-Hicks contractions, and have to eat every 3 hours or I get wayyy too hungry. The baby moves all. the. time. Even more than June did, and I felt like she was such an active baby! I’ve loved all the kicks, rolls and squirms I feel throughout the day.
Exercise
It’s still a bit sporadic between sick kids, being busy with work and everything, but I’m trying! I need to get in the habit of walking again, but it’s hard when we are so busy every day of the week. I’ve been going to Bar Method about twice a week, which has been sooo nice!
High moment of the month
It was nice to have a few days without kids this past weekend. I got a ton of work done, “slept in”, went to Bar Method, moved June into James’s room, and got to go on a breakfast date with Isaac. It was a much needed weekend, but goodness I missed my kids so much! I’m blaming the extra emotions on pregnancy hormones though lol
Last week we also did a photoshoot for my swimsuit launch for The Threaded Bee, and I’m still obsessing over how cute the pictures turned out! And it made me even more excited for summer to finally get here.
