HEY THERE!
In typical pregnancy fashion, now that the first trimester is over, things seem to be flying by! This past month has been so fun – I began homeschooling James, finally started sleeping again, and have really been enjoying this season of pregnancy. I’ve felt some flutters and little movements here and there, which just makes me smile so big… the miracle of growing a baby never gets old!
This month we also got to see the baby at an ultrasound place. It’s amazing to see how that blob of cells has now turned into a teeny little human that will join our family in a few short months. It definitely makes things seem so much more real! The big kids are excited about the baby, and they love giving my belly hugs and kisses throughout the day. This little one has no idea how much they are already loved!
How far along?
I’m 16 weeks and 3 days
How big is the baby?
The baby is about 4.6 inches long, about the size of a donut!
Must-have items
I live with my 32oz Hydroflask by my side to try and stay hydrated throughout the day – it’s actually hard to remember to drink when I’m so busy with the kids! I also use Earthley’s Good Night Lotion, which definitely helps me sleep better at night.
Cravings
I haven’t been craving anything really specific, but I have noticed I want more savory things than sweet!
Symptoms
I’m actually feeling pretty good! I still take a nap every day, but besides that I’m really enjoying the 2nd trimester. I’ve felt some of the baby’s movements, and have had a bit of round ligament pain when rolling over in bed.
Exercise
For the first pregnancy ever (pretty much) I’ve been able to begin a pretty good exercise routine! I began the Tone it Up pregnancy workout program, and am really enjoying it. I have been going on more walks now that the weather is cooler, and make it up to the Bar Method studio as often as possible. I love getting some movement in, and know it really helps start the day on a good note.
High moment of the month
I loved getting to see the ultrasound of the baby… the 3D pictures still blow me away! I am also reaaaaaally happy to be sleeping better – I feel like a new person.
The next update and appointment is at 20 weeks, means it’s anatomy scan time! Where in the world is time going?
