Happy September y’all! The start of a month is always so refreshing to me, because it’s like a clean slate, a chance to try again, and the perfect time to set new goals. I have always enjoyed reading the goals other bloggers set for themselves. It’s fun to see how they did with the past months’ goals, and it’s such a neat way to hold yourself accountable to what you planned on accomplishing. The past few months I’ve thought about setting goals for myself and sharing it on the blog, but it never felt right. However, now that it’s almost fall (my absolute favorite season), the start of a new school year and the beginning of cooler weather (and Christmas!!) I feel more inspired than ever to finally make the plunge. I don’t know what it is about fall, but for some reason it symbolizes a time for fresh starts, and a chance to get my life in order. Although honestly, it could be simply the break from the summer heat that makes me feel like a new person! Which is why today, I’m excited to share my September goals with you.
September Goals
For the Blog:
Prep all posts one week in advance
Especially now that school has started back, this will help me tremendously on time management and not stressing out about the blog on school nights! To achieve this, I’m dedicating a few hours a day to work on the upcoming posts and Facebook groups.
Make 4 posts SEO friendly
This means making pictures more pinnable for Pinterest, modifying as needed to increase the SEO rating, and even retaking pictures on my older posts. Let’s just say I’ve learned a lot more about blogging than when I first started out years ago.
Grow my Instagram account
I don’t have a specific number of followers I want to achieve, but I really want to increase my engagement on Instagram and plan my pictures and timing of posts better. I also want to start using Instagram Stories more. They are so fun, and I love getting to connect to my followers!
Start a challenge on the blog!
I’ve been waiting until the fall to do this, and I’m so excited it’s finally here. I am planning on hosting a healthy living challenge this month to kick off my favorite season, and to help you feel your best. I’ll be posting about it on Instagram as we get closer. You won’t want to miss out!
For Me:
Finish Country Heat
I have been off and on with working out and eating healthy ever since we got back from Romania. I started Country Heat this week, and it’s been a game changer! I look forward to working out (because who doesn’t love dancing in the privacy of your living room?), and am more motivated than ever to stick to my meal plan. I’m not following the meal plan 100%, but I’m doing pretty well, and I’m happy with it. I’ll be writing a review of the program when I finish, so be on the lookout for that later this month!
Work on my running mileage
If you were on Instagram the other day, you saw that Isaac and I decided spur of the moment to sign up for the Alamo 13.1 (and by spur of the moment I mean we were both at work, I messaged him saying that they were having a 30 hour sale, and by noon we were officially registered). I am SO excited, because we ran it earlier this year and it was the best race I’ve ever run before. And it gives us extra motivation to keep up our running, especially since Isaac wants to run it at least five minutes faster than our last time. So now it’s time to start working on distance and speed!
Read two books
I have a few books I’ve been planning on reading for a while now, and I really want to make an effort to read them. My problem is just making time for it!
Go on a fun date with Isaac
One of the things I have loved the most about being married is always being with Isaac. But that makes it harder to plan dates like we used to. In college we would go to Dallas a lot, or out dancing all the time, because it was how we were able to see each other. So this month I want to have a fun date night like we used to!
What are your goals for the month?
The giveaway ends at midnight! Don’t miss out on your chance to enter and win some awesome prizes.
These are great goals! Love the date night idea! One of my goals that I have been scared of taking on for the blog is switching hosts. I think I am going to take the plunge this month, fingers crossed!
I have similar blogging goals – growing Instagram, writing posts in advance, SEO. There’s just so much that goes into blogging – it’s lucky we love it! :)
Good luck with your goals! I’ve gotten somewhat better on the getting posts ready in advance. I need to work on growing IG & actually using my blog Twitter.
Awesome goals! I’ve heard great things about the Country Heat. I would love to be able to get a week ahead on blog posts. Maybe once we get in a better back-to-school routine.
I hope you have a wonderful month. I work at a digital marketing firm and I love that you are worried about your SEO. That is one of my goals each month is to go back and make SEO adjustments to older posts.

Thank you Carrie! Good luck on switching hosts!!
Writing blog posts in advance is one of my goals as well. I was doing really well a couple weeks ago but then I fell behind again!
I feel like that’s just the way it goes. But so far it’s been really good and I’m ahead of schedule! Let’s hope it can stay that way haha.
So fun! You have some great goals that I believe you can easily achieve, girl!
Yeah!! That’s my goal haha. I want to make sure to set myself up for success instead of stressing out because I couldn’t reach my goals.
Good luck with your goals! I’m trying to get better about writing posts in advance too.
Thanks Rachel! So far it’s going great- let’s hope it stays that way!

Great goals! I’ve been reading 2 books a month this year and I just love it!
That’s so impressive! I can barely make time in my day to read more than 20 minutes. Gotta reprioritize!
Awesome goals! I’ve heard great things about the Country Heat. I would love to be able to get a week ahead on blog posts. Maybe once we get in a better back-to-school routine.
Thank you Shann! It’s all about routine and scheduling for me.

I’ve recently come to see how SEO changes EVERYTHING. I love my Yoast plugin, because it makes it so much easier to get my posts ready to publish.
Thank you Jessica! All it takes is a little time at the beginning and lots of time management, but so far so good!
