HEY THERE!
I made this smoothie for breakfast the other morning and boy oh boy it was so good! It was sweetly tangy and the bright citrus flavors of the orange and grapefruit were a fun and flavorful way to start the day. I’m usually not that big a fan of citrus fruits, but sometimes I get in the mood and really enjoy it. It also helps when the fruits aren’t too tart! I still can’t really get into the whole orange juice and grapefruit for breakfast thing… I think I’ll just stick to making smoothies with them.
Right now I have some wooonderfully delicious smelling pumpkin muffins in the oven… Once my mouth stops watering and I eat about ten take pictures, I’ll post that recipe! And yes… I know it’s the middle of August, but I like to get a head start on my fall baking sometimes.
Ingredients:
1 medium orange
1 grapefruit
1 frozen banana
1/4 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk (add more or less for consistency)
1/2 cup nonfat vanilla Greek yogurt
1 Tbsp chia seeds
2 tsp flax seeds
Blend all the ingredients together until it is smooth and creamy! I paired mine with a scrambled egg white and a scrambled whole egg for the perfect breakfast.
