Description

Elevate your oatmeal game with these delicious variations made with simple ingredients.

Ingredients

Scale

Base Oatmeal Recipe:

2 cups old fashioned rolled oats
1/4 cup chia seeds
2 scoops collagen
1/2 tsp salt
1/3 cup brown sugar
2 cups milk (or plant based variation)
1-2 cups water

Vanilla Blueberry:
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup frozen blueberries

Cinnamon Apple:
1 apple
4 tsp cinnamon, divided
1 Tbsp sugar

Peanut Butter Banana:
1 banana, divided
1 Tbsp peanut butter
Peanut butter chips (optional)

Instructions

Make the base oatmeal recipe.
In a large saucepan, mix together all the ingredients for the base recipe (oats, chia seeds, collagen, salt, brown sugar, milk and water). Add more or less water depending on the consistency you prefer for your oatmeal.

Vanilla blueberry:
Stir in the vanilla and frozen blueberries into the oat mixture. Cook on medium heat while stirring regularly (to avoid burning on the bottom) until the liquid is absorbed and the oats are cooked, about 15 minutes. Serve and enjoy! You can also top with some banana and granola for an extra yummy bowl.

Cinnamon Apple:
Core and dice the apple. Cook the apple in a skillet with 2 tsp of cinnamon and the tablespoon of sugar on medium/low heat. Stir until the apples are soft and have formed a yummy syrup with the cinnamon and sugar. Remove from the heat and set aside.
Meanwhile add the rest of the cinnamon to the base recipe, and cook the oats on medium heat while stirring regularly (to avoid burning on the bottom) until the liquid is absorbed and it is cooked, about 10-15 minutes. Serve topped with the cinnamon apples!

Peanut Butter Banana:
Divide the banana into two, and smash one half into the oats. Mix in the peanut butter, and cook on medium heat while stirring regularly (to avoid burning on the bottom) until the liquid is absorbed and it is cooked, about 10-15 minutes.
Serve topped with the rest of the banana (sliced) and optional peanut butter chips.
