HEY THERE!
Let’s pretend this update isn’t three weeks late, okay? I have a love hate relationship with these posts, and my goodness going back to find pictures of Junie from almost two months ago made me tear up. You don’t realize how quickly the baby is changing and growing when you’re with them every day. And seeing pictures of my little barely three month old baby reminded me of just how big she has gotten. Like I say every month, time needs to slow down!
This was the busiest month I’ve had in a LONG time so we didn’t go on very many adventures or take a ton of pictures. The days were filled with the kiddos playing, mama working and maybe a little too much screen time. And even though it was a hard month being a mom and business owner, there were still so many special moments! Seeing James and June together makes my heart swell with love. They love each other so much, and I hope they continue to be the best of friends as they grow up.
This month June truly earned her nickname “Smiley”. She is always grinning and the happiest baby (except for when we want her to sleep and she refuses… then she’s not so smiley). My grandma told me that “Smiley” was my dad’s nickname when he was a baby, and I love that so much!! I had no idea, and knowing she may have gotten the same kind, calm and sweet disposition my dad had brings tears to my eyes.
One of the fun traditions June got to experience for the first time was going to the pumpkin patch with our dear friends. We’ve gone with our pastor’s family for five years, and I am so excited to continue the tradition and watch our families grow over the years.
Plus is it really fall if we don’t get our annual picture with the Samuels?
We went on a fun day adventure to the Vintage Market Days with Brittany and Miles. It was cold, but so fun hanging out and being toddler free for the day (thanks Lala and Grandpa!).
Another fun outing was a park playdate with cousin Quinn. My cousin had her first baby six weeks after June was born, and it was great getting the babies together on a beautiful fall evening.
This month June’s personality has continued to grow! She is so chill, tolerates big brother smothering her with love, and began sleeping so much better. One day to the next she went from waking up every 3ish hours at night to sleeping 6+. It could be because we started using nighttime diapers on her, the weighted sleep sack we began using, or both. Who knows? Either way, it has been SO nice (and much needed) to get more sleep at night. Although I do try and stop to get some sleepy cuddles in while I can!
June still isn’t rolling over much, but her head is SO strong, and she is really good at sitting up in our laps and a pro at following people around a room. She still loves her play gym, but has shown more interest in other toys which is fun! I love pulling out toys James used to play with and she her eyes light up when she sees them.
This month was so much fun with June and James, and I have LOVED the moments I’ve had with no work and we can just play and interact together. Hopefully as busy season winds down I can do that more and more. Kids and babies change so fast, and I already miss that snuggly newborn we had just a few months ago! Although this interactive and adorable baby is just as sweet and amazing.
Oh and we started cloth diapers when she turned 4 months old. More on that next month!!
