HEY THERE!
How oh how do we have a three month old? My heart just can’t take this whole getting-bigger-every-day thing. I keep looking at pictures from when he was first born and can’t believe how much he’s changed. My squishy little baby has gotten so big! It really hit me the other day when he was just playing by himself on his little cloud, cooing and looking over at me every once in a while to smile. Gosh, it just tugs on the heartstrings, right?!
And I just have to say… I LOVE being James’s mama. It’s just the best.
James has become so much more attentive this month! He’s always been pretty alert, but this month he has learned how to follow people around a room, and interacts way more. My favorite thing lately is how he will smile and laugh when I make faces at him. Basically, I’m the funniest person ever. Just ask James. ;)
We went on our annual pumpkin patch visit with our pastor’s family and had a blast! It finally felt like fall for the first time in years and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Rarely does it feel like fall in Texas when you visit a pumpkin patch!
This month was a big travel month for James! We went to my church’s women’s retreat and flew to Oregon to visit Brooke and Tommie.
Speaking of Oregon, it’s GORGEOUS. We had a blast and I can’t wait to go back in the spring. While we were there, we went to a REAL pumpkin patch (that’s a big thing for this Texan!), drove around the beautiful mountains, and traveled to Crater Lake. It was a sweet, sweet time with my best friend, and I loved getting to have a little glimpse into their new life up there.
Also, James and Tommie are totally getting married. Just staying.
James has recently discovered the beauty of sucking on his hands. Sometimes he even prefers it over his pacifier! I’ve also tried giving him a little plastic elephant to gnaw on, and it’s adorable. His coordination isn’t the best, but he’s learning how to hold things and bring them to his mouth. Sooo cute!
One of my favorite things about James? Well besides his laugh, eye crinkling smile, when he clasps his hands up by his face, how he nuzzles his head into my chest when he’s sleepy and how he coos to me in the morning… His gorgeous blue eyes. Y’all. They kill me every time!
We’ve been working on tummy time and sitting up in my lap. He’s not perfect at it yet, but it’s so neat to see how strong he’s getting. I can’t wait to see how strong he gets in the upcoming months. He’s also showing signs of rolling over – aaaahhh!
Now that we’re in the throws of fall sessions, James has been able to come to some sessions with me to be my sweet little photoshoot buddy. It’s the best! :)
Here’s to your third month of life and more memories to come! :)
