HEY THERE!
This month felt so busy with just the normal “hustle and bustle” of everyday life. Homeschool, the last weeks of MDO, walks, playdates, our church co-op, and everything in between made each day go by faster than the one before. Thankfully I feel like we have begun to find a rhythm with little Fran, which makes everything feel so much more feasible than before! She is fitting in perfectly with the family, and everyone is still absolutely smitten with our chunky little baby.
Now that she’s older and interacting more, the kids LOVE playing with her and talking to her. James always asks to do tummy time with Fran so he can lay down beside her and see her lift her head up. Ellie thinks every baby she sees is “FRANNIEEEE”. And June is my little helper, always ready to bring me something or watch Fran when I step out of the room. It’s a handful having four kids under 6, but also so fun and rewarding!
Every day Fran seems to change a little bit more. She went from smiling to cooing to trying to roll over and scooting around. I know this is my fourth baby, but it continues to surprise me how quickly babies change. I love the newborn stage, but I also love seeing them discover the world around them. Especially when it involved a big ‘ole gummy smile when I look at them!
I haven’t measured Fran lately, but I KNOW sister is getting big. She’s fitting into only a handful of her mama-made newborn clothes, and has definitely added some squishy rolls to her legs.
And my goodness Frances has learned so many new skills lately! She’s started trying to laugh (which is the absolute cutest thing ever), sucking her hands, grabbing at my thumb when she nurses, pushing her paci in when it’s close to her mouth, lots of scooting and leg kicking, and so much cooing/”talking”. I’ve loved having the chance to actually slow down this postpartum season to truly soak in every little detail.
Sleep has thankfully continued to improve over the past few weeks! Most of her naps are still spent in my arms, but I’ve been able to transfer her a handful of times into the crib, so I’ll take it. And I won’t lie… I am truly enjoying every minute of those sleepy snuggles with her!
This month Fran got to join me for a few photoshoots and (thank goodness) behaved wonderfully – you never really know with a baby! She came to my sister’s bridal session, a headshot session with my midwife and a couple others. And of COURSE I had to snap some pics of her. She’s just too darn cute.
We celebrated Mother’s Day, and it was so sweet having all my babies with me. I love them more than words can describe!
Our big adventure this month was going on our annual beach trip with our besties. Frances did SO well, and seemed to really like the fresh air and constant sound of the waves. She had lots of contact naps, got splashed by the waves and looked so cute in her swimsuit and hat.
Frannie got to participate in her first “official” photoshoot with her siblings, showing off her new 4th of July clothes. Little does she know, but that was the first of many many more to come in her life. ;)
And wow… that’s about it. The rest of the month was spent just doing our normal everyday things. We love you, our sweet little Frances Anne!
