HEY THERE!
Today I’m heading out to Fredericksburg, TX with my two best friends from college, and you have no idea how excited I am! We’ve had this trip in the makings for a few months now, and it’s going to be such a fun reunion and girls weekend. I honestly couldn’t think of a better way to kick off my spring break, and I’m looking forward to lazy mornings, shopping, new restaurants and lots of pictures. Head on over to my Instagram to keep up with our shenanigans!
I have always loved springtime. Between the gorgeous weather, wildflowers, cute styles and (of course) my birthday, this is definitely one of my favorite times of the year. One of the things I love most about spring is all the floral patterns that make an appearance just about everywhere. I am a huge fan of all things floral (a look around my apartment would tell you that!), and I especially love it when it comes to my clothes. Nothing says “spring” quite like a fun floral dress or kimono.
So today I’m sharing five of my absolute favorite floral looks that will get you ready for spring, and tips on how to rock each outfit!
I am the self declared queen of kimonos, and I’m sure many of my friends would agree with me. I own about 6 different ones, and I’m always on the hunt for more. Not only are they super cute and fun, but they dress up plain colored dresses or outfits, AND they are lightweight enough to wear all summer long. Since I’m a teacher by day, kimonos are the perfect way to cover up straps that are too thin without dying of heat when summer rolls around. They’re the new cardigan, y’all! ; )
And bonus, they work as super adorable swimsuit coverups too. Kimonos are the gift that keeps on giving.
Becca tip: I have 5 dresses that look just like this one in my closet that I pair with all the different kimonos I have. My long-sleeved t-shirt dresses are great for winter/spring, and the short sleeve ones are perfect for warmer months.
Never wear crazily patterned dress with a kimono, because it makes your outfit too busy. Pick an accent color in the kimono to match with your dress. You don’t want to match the main color of the kimono- that would be way too matchy-matchy!

One of my favorite ways to wear a denim jacket is by pairing it with a maxi dress. Not only does it go well with practically any pattern or color, but it’s great for keeping you warm as the weather transitions from winter to spring. It also adds structure to a flowy dress, keeping things fun without becoming too much.
Becca tip: Denim jackets go best with maxi dresses with very little structure to them. This way your jacket doesn’t cut off before the “waist” of your dress, and it doesn’t look weird together. This dress is perfect for layering with a denim jacket, or even your favorite chambray shirt. And doesn’t that pattern just scream spring?

I LOVE booties in the fall and winter months. And the good news is that just because flowers are blooming and the temperatures are rising doesn’t mean they have to go to the back of your closet! One of my favorite spring looks is a fun sundress with cute booties, because I am able to enjoy the fun spring patterns without having cold toes from wearing sandals. ; ) The best of both worlds, right?
And how about those open shoulders on this dress? I love how flirty it is, and the dress is so soft. Definitely one of my favorite dresses to date!
Becca tip: Booties with a taller ankle look better with sundresses. I love these booties because they kind of look like cowboy boots, and I think they’ll be perfect for wearing this summer too!

I bought this hat for our “Hats off to Reading Day” at school and I am in. love. with it. The hat is SO soft, flattering, and it was perfect for keeping the sun out of my eyes during recess.
In the spring I spend a lot of time outdoors. I love going to festivals, on outdoor dates, and I have photo shoots lined up till the beginning of May. Wearing a hat is essential for keeping the sun at bay, and for protecting your skin from harmful UV rays. When you pair it with your favorite floral dress, you’ll not only look darling, but you’ll also be taking care of yourself in the process. Win win!
Becca tip: find a hat that will go with different outfits to get the most use out of it! I wear a lot of browns and gold jewelry, so a nude color like this one was perfect for my wardrobe. If you wear more black and gray, go for a similarly colored hat.
And how ’bout this ADORABLE dress? It’s from a local boutique (which is also on Facebook), and I love love love how fun and springy it is! The colors are so pretty and bright, and I’ve loved wearing it this spring.

I will be the first person to tell you that jeans are not my favorite thing to wear. I am much more of a dress and leggings kind of gal. However, the other day I was at Old Navy and decided to give jeans one more chance to win me over… And (I can’t believe I’m saying this), but I think they did!
I have neverevernever found a pair of jeans that I enjoyed wearing. Not even jeggings! They are usually either too restrictive, too loose, too low-cut or too expensive for me. But these skinny jeans are ah-ma-zing. They’re stretchy, hit past my belly button, and are oh so comfortable. I still don’t wear jeans much, but now I don’t dread jeans days as school quite like I used to!
And, best of all, they go perfectly with this fun floral top. I love how bright the tank is, and the cute floral design all over. It also pairs well with my white converse (my favorite shoes!), giving me THE perfect casual spring outfit.
Becca tip: I prefer darker colored jeans, because they are more flattering and look better with most tops. You can also pair this outfit with a cute cardigan or chambray shirt for those cooler spring nights.
