HEY THERE!
Well folks… we officially have a ONE year old, and thankfully I was able to keep the tears at a minimum. We are so blessed to have our precious Ellie Sue in our lives. She is such a ray of sunshine, has become a very goofy and giggly little girl, and absolutely loves her big siblings. I cannot imagine our family without her in it!
This month was full of so much fun! We have had the best summer, and I’ve been soaking in all these sweet moments and fun memories made with family. Most weeks consist of at least one outing that involves water (it’s HOT here, y’all), and we’ve had so many parties with family and friends. What a fun season of life, y’all!
Here’s to a whole year with the squishiest little baby. We love you to the moon and back, Eleanor Sue!
In case you missed it, Texas is currently suffering from some pretty brutal temps. One of the highs this week was 107 – ew. Which means we spend most of our time indoors or in water. I’ve gone on a few walks with the kids, but we make sure to get them done as early as possible before it gets too miserable outside! Thank goodness we have an awesome library near us, season passes to the water park and some fun splash pads in the area.
I’ve really enjoyed having all the kids home for the summer. We’ve gone on a lot of adventures and outings, and I love watching them play and interact with each other. I pray they continue to be friends as they get older!
This month we celebrated so many fun things! The first was Father’s Day, where we got to love on our favorite Dada. We went to a blueberry patch for our Father’s Day outing, and had a blast picking blueberries and blackberries, eating a picnic dinner and making sweet memories.
We also celebrated 4th of July, where we hosted our annual gathering with our close friends and siblings. We had a blast as always!
My mom got almost all of my siblings together for family vacation this month, and we had SUCH a fun trip! I love watching the cousins play together, and I always relish the time I get to spend with my family. We went to Camp Fimfo in Waco and it was such a cool place, with a pool, huge splash pad, mini golf course, tennis courts, restaurant and so much more. I felt like I was at grownup summer camp!
I think it’s impossible for a month to go by without a little photoshoot with my kiddos. They’re just so gosh darn cute, you know?! This one is by far one of my favorites – I was going for summery 90s vibes, and I think we nailed it!
For Ellie’s birthday we went on a fun outing to the water park. It was hot, but felt great in the water, and we all had the best time celebrating our sweet one year old. I just love these hot summer days spent making memories with my kiddos.
We ended the month with a big joint birthday party for Ellie and June who have birthdays only five days apart. It was such a fun way to celebrate our girls, and my heart is still so full. I’ll share more in a future post about Ellie’s Sunshine Birthday Party, but I’ll just say… it was such a fun party! And I love how it all came together.
Ellie has hit a bunch of milestones this month! She has changed a ton in the past few weeks and it’s bittersweet to see her become more of a toddler and less of a baby. She’s been cruising along furniture, has attempted standing and balancing more and more, taken a couple of steps randomly, and is saying 3-4 signs consistently. I am so proud of her!
She has discovered that she can be very silly, and loves making us laugh at the dinner table. I know Ellie wants to be a big girl so badly, and I love watching her little mind work as she tries to figure out how to say something, or tries playing with her big siblings. She has the sweetest spirit, and I can’t wait to see who she becomes in the years to come.
We love you, our BIG girl! And happiest of birthdays, Eleanor Sue!
