HEY THERE!
My oh my, what a month! It’s been a non-stop 6 weeks of traveling, and I am so happy to be home for a bit. We have been making so many special memories, but a few of weekends staying at home sure sound amazing. Ellie has changed so much this past month, and it makes me sad to see her become more of a toddler and less a baby. Which is probably why my baby fever has kicked into high gear again ;)
Eleanor continues to be our sweet, easy-going baby, and I just love her so much! She’s started putting on more weight, and I am thrilled to see her squishy thigh rolls make an appearance again. I just want to freeze her at this age, because she is so much fun and so stinking adorable!
As I mentioned before, we did a lot of traveling this month! It started with a visit to Oregon to visit one of my best friends for my 30th birthday. Of course Ellie came with me and was such a trooper on two long days of flying. We had such a great visit, exploring the Oregon forest, an amazing tulip farm, and hanging out with our favorite Samuels family. I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect way to begin this next decade of life.
I went on my first overnight trip without Ellie (in fact, the first overnight trip I’ve ever taken while still nursing a baby!) to go to the Red Dirt BBQ Fest with some of my siblings. It was so much fun, but goodness I sure missed my baby!
This month also brought some milestones for James. Ellie and I got to go to his spring musical (which I say in Ms. Darbus’s voice every time – iykyk) and then to watch him graduate from his preschool program. I am so proud of him and how much he has learned! Next year Ellie will be going to school while James stays home with me to do homeschool Kindergarten.
We learned about strawberries this month, and ended the unit with a field trip to a strawberry farm! It was very busy and we didn’t get to pick many strawberries, but it was a blast and the kids loved seeing the strawberry plants in person. Plus we got some cute pictures, so win win.
Even though it’s been a fairly mild start to summer, we have had fun doing some of our favorite warm weather activities. The pool has been a hit already, and we’ve been to the splash pad three times so far! I love playing in the water, and it’s so nice that the kids love it too.
Ellie is definitely a huge fan of food, and eats more than June some days! She’s nursing around 4 times a day and still sleeping through the night. I am so thankful for her and her easy going nature – I sure need it in this crazy season of life!
Little miss is still army crawling, and I’m just trying to not be too frustrated about it. I know she’ll crawl normally eventually… Even though I wish it was sooner rather than later! She looooves pulling up to standing, and does it every chance she gets. Ellie also wants to climb over and on top of ev-ery-thing. She’s crazy!
We ended the month with Mother’s Day, and even though the kiddos were sick, it was such a sweet day, soaking in my three little loves. I absolutely love being their mama, even on the hard days.
My smiley baby is just such a joy to be around, and I love watching her personality shine. I can’t wait to she the precious little toddler she’ll be one day!
