HEY THERE!
My oh my what a hectic past couple of weeks. After a really long and tough 6 weeks of sickness that started in January, life got extremely busy as we crammed in as much as we could the minute everyone started feeling better. Ellie’s 7th month seems to have passed by in a blur of survival, and I’m so glad we’re on the other side of it. Now that we’re halfway through the next month of her life, I guess it’s time to finally sit down and write this update. Better late than never!
As mentioned above, this month was absolutely full of sickness. We had just a few days of feeling better after being sick in January before a cold hit our household again. Ellie Sue got the worst of it, and it turned into a double ear infection. She’s the first of my babies to get one, and it was absolutely pathetic to witness. I made the best of it, though, and enjoyed all the precious snuggles with her.
Then once Ellie started feeling better, the two big kids got a virus from school that gave them a high fever, nausea, vomiting and exhaustion. Thankfully Ellie didn’t catch it, but it was still so tiring dealing with sickness after sickness in the family.
Thankfully in between all the sickness, we were able to fit in little bits of fun. We had a couple of photoshoots for some clothing and fabric companies, and I love how those cute pictures turned out!
We also got to do a photoshoot with our neighbors at our little neighborhood park. They are moving this month, and I wanted to take some pictures to remember all the fun times we’ve had there with them over the years. It’s going to be so sad to see them leave our street!
Over spring break we went to visit my mom to help her clean out her attic. While my sister-in-law and I took care of the kids, we headed to a tulip farm for some cousin fun! It was windy and muddy, but we made the best of it and left with some sweet memories.
The rest of the month was just spent at home, playing, watching a LOT of TV, snuggling babies, wiping noses, cleaning everything, and just taking time to slow down and breathe. We’re back to our normal, nonstop schedule, so those slow days we had were much appreciated.
Ellie is army crawling everywhere, and wants to climb on top of everything! She moves non-stop and just wants to catch up with her big siblings. Thankfully they love playing with her, except for when she knocks over the towers James builds.
We took a little break from eating solids while she was sick, but we’re back at it and she’s loving it. I’m still only giving her food only at dinner, and we’re taking it slow, but I know once we really get going, Ellie is not going to complain. Sister just loves to eat! She still only has two teeth, but makes up for that with her razor sharp nails. Yikes!
Here’s to another month with our sweet Eleanor Sue.
