HEY THERE!
Six months ago I was laying in my bed, soaking in the sweetness of the little baby in my arms… The baby we hadn’t planned on having. The baby I struggled to connect with for most of my pregnancy. And the baby I am now beyond thankful for. The Lord truly blessed our family with the best, happiest, chunkiest most precious Eleanor Sue. I can’t imagine our lives without her!
This has been such a huge month of growth for Ellie. It brought her first Christmas, gentle sleep training, lots of photoshoots and even more hugs and kisses. We have had the BEST six months with the best Ellie Sue!
Ellie has been on the move this month! She went from rolling here and there to full on army crawling in a couple of weeks. She’s no longer safe on the bed (even with pillows around the perimeter) because she’s figured out how to climb over them and topple to the ground.
On top of all of that, she popped out her first tooth, so no more gummy smiles for us! I had no idea she was even teething, so I hope she takes after James and handles it alright. Time will tell!
Another month means more smooshy face pics with Ellie. She’s just the squishiest!
We had a fun little family outing to see Christmas lights, and all the kids loved it. Ellie got to be snuggled up to mama the whole time while James and June ran around looking at all the pretty lights. I just love this time of the year!
This month Ellie got to celebrate her first Christmas, and it was such a good one. We had the best time with our families! There was lots of food, lots of laughter and so many sweet memories were made.
After establishing good sleep habits from the get-go, Ellie was able to move past her 4 month regression and back to sleeping well at night so well! She now sleeps through the night pretty consistently, and I just wake up once a night to nurse her. Eventually I’ll wean her of that dream feed, but for now it’s working, and mama is enjoying the sleep!
We rang in the new year with our besties, Jeremy and Emily, and the bougie-est breakfast charcuterie board. While Ellie didn’t get to enjoy it to its full extent, we all had a great time.
We will begin baby led weaning this month, and Ellie loves that she now has her own special spot at the table! She plays with toys while we eat our dinner and gets to be a *big girl* which is so cute. One night we gave her a little bit of mashed sweet potato and it was SO funny. Instead of digging in with her hands like a normal child, she cut out the middle man and tried sticking her face straight in the food. Unfortunately it didn’t work, but she got bonus points for the effort.
Earlier this week we took advantage of the beautiful weather and went to the zoo! It was the perfect day with just me and the kiddos, and the best way to introduce Ellie to one of our favorite places to explore.
This month we had a few photoshoots with Ellie. One of my favorites was at Bar Method Southlake celebrating my 5 year *bar-versary* there. I love getting to share such a special place with my littles!
We also did a mini photoshoot for my clothing shop (The Threaded Bee)’s Valentine’s Day launch. Just look at those cute babies!!
I ended the month with a special milestone photoshoot of our sweet Ellie Sue. For each of my kids’ 6 month pictures I’ve dressed them to match their special Cuddle + Kind friends. Ellie got her Hannah Bunny for Christmas, and I was so excited to try making her a matching outfit. I ended up teaching myself how to crochet so I could make her a little daisy headband and scalloped neckline like the doll. It was definitely worth that labor of love! I am so happy with how it all turned out, and that we have these sweet photos to remember our little sunshine baby girl.
I am still in shock that Eleanor is half a year old. On one hand it feels like it’s flown by, and on the other, I can hardly remember what our lives were like before she was here. She has filled our home with so much joy, and I am so thankful the Lord gave us her. Here’s to the next 6 months!
