HEY THERE!
As I mentioned in my fall decor post, I LIVE for easy ways to decorate. I had so much fun sharing my fall decorations with y’all that I decided to do a Christmas one and I’m a little too excited about it. ;)
Growing up, Christmas was always my favorite time of year (just ask my mom…) and you better believe that the minute the Thanksgiving dinner was packed up in the fridge I began pulling out the Christmas decorations! Now that I have my own place, Christmas decorating is a little bit different. I still play my favorite music, and enjoy some hot chocolate while decking out my apartment, but instead of waiting till after Thanksgiving, I usually decorate it a few days before. Since I have the week of Thanksgiving off, and we spend the latter portion of it at home with family, it’s the only time I have to do it before going back to work again. Whatever works, right?!
*Disclaimer: I know the tree’s still not fully decorated. We’ll get to that eventually. ;)*
It only takes me a couple of hours or so to fully decorate the apartment for Christmas. Once I put all the fall decorations back in storage, I usually do a quick deep clean before switching over to Christmas. I like to use these times to get rid of stuff I don’t use or need, and to clean up any clutter that may have started to accumulate. It’s also nice to just have a picked up and clean apartment before going out of town for Thanksgiving (I’m a little crazy like that), because I feel so relaxed when I come home. Yes, I’m one of those people!
So without further ado, here are my favorite easy holiday decor ideas to make your Christmas decorating a breeze. : )
Fabric strip banner
I made this garland about four years ago and it’s one of my favorite Christmas decorations. Between the festive fabrics and Christmas lights, there’s not much not to love. It adds such warmth to the room, and fits perfectly above the TV. #priorities
Garlands galore!
An easy way to spruce up a space is by simply throwing a garland on it! I have my frosted pine garland, and two different cranberry garlands that I are oh so pretty. They make a simple frame, shelf or table look so festive, and you can find them all over the place on sale this time of year! Especially check after the holidays and get some AWESOME deals, because let’s be honest… those things can be expensive.
Replace florals with Reds and Greens
I like to get glittery florals to bring a little *sparkle* to my house. I just go through to all the different bottles, vases and jars I use for flowers and replace them with my holiday choices.
Decorate with mini trees
Living in an apartment means space is limited, but that doesn’t mean I have to skimp on decorations. ;) I love these smaller Christmas trees that are great for adding a little bit of the holidays to my apartment, without having to compromise on space. Plus, there’s no need to decorate them since they’re already nice and spruced up the way they come.
Candles
Yes, I know candles aren’t necessarily “decorations” (although I have been known to buy one simply because the container was so gosh darn pretty), but I totally try to make it work! ;) The good thing about Bath & Body Works is that they have so many gorgeous candles nowadays. I feel like they’ve been leaning more towards the home scents lately and I’m totally digging the new smells and designs! I’m a bit candle obsessed.
And the rest! : )

Great job! I just love holiday decor so much. It really puts you in the festive mood!
It looks so pretty!! I love the fabric banner and all the holly. So comfy and cozy. ;)
I love all of it! I am loving the farmhouse style and the more cozy looking decor.
Your decorations are so beautiful! I really like the window decor on your living room wall and your doors for a headboard in your room. Do you happen to have a tutorial for how you did this because I’d love to do this in my home, too?! Thanks! :)
I always go a little crazy with the decor around this time of year.
