HEY THERE!
I am so excited to share this home tour with you! We are officially moved into our new apartment, decorations are hung, and life is feeling a little more settled. We have unpacked our last box, hung the last picture frame, and Lillie has christened the place with lots and lots of fur. So, naturally, it feels like home.
I never shared a tour of our old apartment, so this is a little bit new (and fun). We are so happy with our new place, and I LOVE that we have 10 ft ceilings, two bedrooms and two bathrooms, a garage and an open living and dining area. It really doesn’t feel like we are in an apartment (until our upstairs neighbors start walking around…), and I hope to be able to stay here until we’re ready to get a house.
So, without further ado, welcome to our little home!
One of the things that won me over with this apartment was that the kitchen had such an open feel to it. I detest galley kitchens, and wanted one that opened up into the dining area. And this does just that! It’s a little more cramped than our old kitchen, and has a lot less storage (one of the very few things I don’t like about our new place), but with the space on top of the cabinets and storage in the laundry room, I can easily make do.
One of my favorite parts of the kitchen is my little tea towel collection. I love using them for my food pictures, and as you can tell, it’s become a bit of a problem haha. I can’t say no to a cute tea towel!
When looking for a place to live, one of the things on the top of my list is an open concept. I like it when the living and dining rooms flow together, especially with an open kitchen. This living and dining rooms are SO much bigger than in our old place, and we actually love that there’s not a dry bar or fireplace (like our previous two apartments) because it kept the wall empty and allowed us to hang our TV right where we wanted it (#priorities ;) ).
My favorite area of the dining room is, of course, my coffee bar. It’s my little baby.
Holy huge bedroom, Batman! Our poor little full sized bed looks so teeny tiny in this huge room. We hope to get a bigger bed soon, but until then our full will just have to do! I adore my fun door headboard with the frames on either side (check out the DIY here) but haven’t added the wreath yet- oops!
I love my dresser, which I painted white back in the day in college, and how it helps brighten up the room a bit.
Our bedroom feels pretty small, but I love it, and Lillie totally digs her little “bedroom” in the corner. She has obviously found the perfect way to fold up her blanket, and I’d hate to ruin all her hard work fixing it back up. ;) And yes, she has a LOT of toys and “babies” that I threw onto her bed. Normally they are scattered all over the apartment, but I cleaned up a bit for y’all haha.
One of the things I said was a must-have for our new apartment was a second bedroom, and y’all… It’s amazing. I love having an extra room! Not only is the closet perfect for storage, but we have put our desks in there which is a nice change from having them in the living room like in our old place.
*Can you tell which desk is mine?? hahaha*
My grandparents gave us their day bed with a trundle and it fits perfectly in our guest bedroom. It’s already been put to good use when my sisters spent the night, and I love that our guests don’t have to sleep on the couch anymore!
Well that’s our new home! Not pictured (cause who wants to see them??) are our HUGEMONGOUS garage and laundry room. Two of the messiest, yet most appreciated rooms we have!
Now it’s your turn to talk! Answer one of these questions in the comments below:

I love your headboard! I remember starting out with a full size bed too. It’s amazing that a queen is only 6 inches wider but feels like a world of difference! Great job decorating!
Everything looks so great! I hate moving but I love getting settled in and nesting.
Awww I love your new apartment! (And that cute dog) :)

Congrats on the new place and getting everything unpacked! Moving is SO much work! I love the headboard that you made for the master bedroom. Such a cute idea!
I am crazy about the color scheme in your kitchen! I have never had an apartment this nice before there is so much light! And the pops of turquoise are lovely!
Love your decor! So nice!
Your apartment looks so chic and cozy! We have some very similar window frame picture frames and mirrors in our house too actually!
Love these types of posts! I live in a house now, but pats for the 14 years previous! Love having the extra room, so important and it’s awesome when guests come
