HEY THERE!
I know I promised some capsule wardrobe posts oh so long ago, and I am ashamed that it’s taken me this long to write another one. Can I just blame it on the holidays, my baby, photography and overall busy-ness? ;) I was planning on doing a full fall/winter capsule wardrobe post, but seeing as how we are almost into spring, it’s not really as relevant as I would have liked it to be. Maybe next year!
So instead I’m sharing some of my favorite ways to style different pieces in my wardrobe, just like my chambray post a few months ago. I hope that these biweekly posts help inspire you to try something new with the clothes you have, challenge you to maybe try something new, and help transition you from winter to spring as the weather warms up! I’ll link where I bought all my items, but my ultimate goal is to encourage you to look at what you already have and find inspiration from it. You’ll be surprised at what you may find! :)
And today the star of the show are my faaaaavorite new boyfriend jeans from Carly Jean Los Angeles (BTW if you haven’t checked out CJLA by now, do. it. They have amazing clothes, good prices, and were the inspiration for starting my own capsule wardrobe). I love them because they are a mid rise, so freaking stretchy and the perfect length. And y’all… I wear them all the time- which says a lot coming from the queen of leggings and skirts over here. I know I’m only sharing three ways to style boyfriend jeans today, and there are so many more ways to wear them, but these are my go-to styles right now!
Best of all? These jeans are ON SALE! You can snag ’em for only $30, y’all!!
If I could pick one article of clothing from this fall/winter that I could wear every single day, it would be this sweater (this is a similar one in a different color). It’s oh so soft and cozy. The sleeves are nice and long. The color is the PERFECT neutral. The blue gives just the right amount of color. And I love how it looks tucked into my boyfriend jeans. Yes, Isaac thinks this tucked in look is silly, but I love it and rock it. ;)
I paired this outfit with some cute booties, but I know it would be JUST as adorable (and even comfier) with my white Converse instead.
This outfit is a go-to for casual days out. It’s definitely more suited for warmer weather with the short sleeves and thin duster, and will transition perfectly from those warmer winter days we get here in Texas to the spring months ahead. Since the jeans are a mid rise, they look great with the shirt tucked in, and you could add in a belt for a little extra summin’ summin’ if you want. I opted for a neutral, plain t-shirt (similar to these) that can be worn in many different outfits (hellooo capsule wardrobe staple!) and one of my favorite kimono dusters from CJLA. It has bell sleeves, is so stretchy and soft, and perfect for when you want to throw something on and still look oh so cute.
Pair this outfit with some booties, Converse, or even cute sandals when the weather warms up!
When I want to look a little more put together (but obviously not compromise my comfort #priorities), kimonos come to the rescue. They are perfect for adding coverage, a little pop of color, and even the ability to look dressier than you really are. ;) This kimono (which I found on Poshmark!) is one of my favorites between the color, the flowers and the pom poms along the bottom! I have enjoyed wearing it in a variety of different outfits, including this one with a simple long sleeve, tight fitting shirt tucked into my boyfriend style jeans. I opted for a tighter shirt because I feel like it looks better when tucked in, especially when paired with a flowy kimono. This shirt is especially awesome because it’s double lined and the neckline is so flattering!
Pair this outfit with some booties for a fun date night look.
And there you have it! Sweet, simple and to the point – three ways to style boyfriend jeans.
Have some more ways to style them? Leave your ideas in the comments! I’m always up for new outfit inspiration. :)
